I started blogging on a separate platform and due to some technical issues, most content was blown away unfortunately. So here we are again – have you ever looked up and suddenly realized that you were the oldest one in room? It is happening more and more often for me. It comes up immediately when there are few shared references such as music, film, history which we just take as a given. Yes I am firmly in the baby boomer category biologically yet I don’t feel very old at all, others say that I don’t look my age at all nor do I display many of the characteristics of a stereotypical baby boomer (more on that later).
So I am solidly in some sort of vortex these days – too old for some but not really fitting into my defined age group. Many of my friends are retired or have been for some time while I embarked on starting to pick up a new career in my late 50s (my 4th) which is still taking shape but slowly due to people finding out my age sadly (more in future posts).
Is there anyone else out there feeling the same way? Not fitting in within their defined age group yet recognizing that there is no one else in your gatherings who has lived as long as you?
